Strategic Philanthropy Course
Private philanthropy can significantly contribute to a world we would be happily born into at random. How we approach this work matters, and our impact will differ by orders of magnitude depending on our strategy.
That’s why we created the Strategic Philanthropy Course, in collaboration with Green Templeton College, University of Oxford.
This 11-session online programme helps participants move from intention to strategy with clarity and confidence. For 11 weeks, participants will be guided through 90 minutes weekly sessions with a small, select group.
Upon completion, participants receive a Certificate of Completion from Polycapital Academy and Green Templeton College, University of Oxford.
Our next cohort (starting Sept 29) will be for wealth holders or advisors and professionals.

Sid Efromovich
Co-Founder & CEO of Regeneration GroupUnder Sid's leadership as CEO and Co-Founder, Regeneration Group has grown to become a global organisation with four entities: Generation Pledge; Polycapital Academy, established in collaboration with Green Templeton College, University of Oxford; Regeneration Wealth Management (in development); and Polycapital Advisors.
Sid is a lifelong learner, and facilitator. He has also taught positive psychology for over a decade. His work with wealth holders has long involved innovating: via his facilitation, convening, speaking, and writing, Sid coined and helped mainstream concepts including polycapital, 'Theory of Wealth’, and ‘moral spheres’. One of his TEDx talks is a top 50 viewed of all time on the TEDx Youtube Channel.
Sid was born and raised in Brazil and now lives with his wife and children in the US.

The course runs over 11 weeks. Each week you'll watch short videos (estimated to take 10 to 30 minutes each week) introducing that week's concepts, then join a live 90-minute session with a small, select group. In the live sessions, you will be invited to wrestle with key topics in the field of philanthropy. Whether you’re actively giving, advising people in their giving, or preparing to engage more seriously in the field, you will work through exercises, concepts, and practices that will equip you to contribute more strategically across all your impact work.

The course is designed for wealth holders, inheritors, advisors and philanthropy professionals. What matters most is curiosity: a willingness to question your own assumptions about giving.
What you'll work through
Over 11 weeks, the course takes you through a structured process:
The core concepts of impact. You'll learn how to think about counterfactuals, where in a system to intervene, and how to work with uncertainty.
Start with your values. You will learn to identify what you care about, the traps that distort values, and how to connect them to real decisions.
Comparing causes and interventions. You'll practice weighing different options against each other, including hands-on work with a prioritisation tool.
Working with experts. You'll learn how to find the right experts and how to use their judgment well.
Putting it into practice. You'll go through a values- and evidence-based decision process from start to finish.
Join a community. You'll do this alongside a small cohort of peers wrestling with the same questions, with access to the Polycapital Academy network after the course ends.
